Mass is measured in kilograms (kg) and does not change with location. Weight is measured in newtons (N) and depends on local gravitational field strength.
The relationship is:
weight = mass × gravitational field strength
This explains why someone has the same mass on Earth and Moon but lower weight on the Moon.
